This week, we are doing a 5-part series to explore the topic of sedation. Today’s
episode is about “The Biggest Side Effect” of sedation. Whether it is from
depression, anxiety, negative self-talk, or good old fashioned stress, it’s not unusual
to feel overwhelmed: emotionally, psychologically, socially, physically, or
relationally. In order to bring ourselves back to a place of tranquility and serenity,
people tend to numb themselves through some form of sedation: alcohol, drugs,
food, sex, porn, cutting, binge-watching TV, gaming, entertainment, etc. As we
explore this topic this week, we will look at ways that we can gain awareness and
even freedom from our cycles of sedation.
