In a very real, very tough episode, Dallas shares about a recent conversation he had
with an old friend, someone with whom he used to commiserate about their cycles
of pain, frustrations, depression, and anxiety. However, whereas Dallas has made
steps to climb out of his personal pit and make forward progress, this conversation
revealed that his friend was still stuck in his own pit, even trying to drag Dallas
back into the pit with him. This encounter brought some emotional insights for
Dallas that, even though he wants to help his friend, his friend might be more
comfortable stuck in misery. What about you? Are there old relationships and old
patterns that threaten to drag you back into your old misery? What potentially hard
choices might you need to make to keep making forward progress?
